Requirements

Candidates should possess a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent work experience, along with over 5 years of generalist software development experience in high-growth startups. Experience with React, GraphQL for API development, and modern frontend applications is expected, with a preference for Next.js framework knowledge. Familiarity with multiple programming languages, particularly Python, Elixir, and JavaScript, is beneficial. Responsibilities

The Fullstack Engineer will shape the future of e-commerce by enhancing purchasing experiences such as Auctions, Buy It Nows, and Flash Sales. They will invent new ways for users to shop and interact, provide buyers with more choice and flexibility, and build with modern web technologies like Apollo and Next.js to advance the web stack and performance. This role involves architecting and scaling checkout and purchasing systems to support Whatnot's rapid growth and marketplace operations. The engineer will also contribute to essential components that improve the customer experience, including features like Checkout, Listing Page, Seller Shop, Buy It Now, and Flash Sales, while taking ownership of projects from inception to production.
