Frontend Engineer - Tax Software

Position Overview

Aiwyn is seeking an experienced Frontend Engineer to join our team and build the future of tax software. Leveraging AI, we are creating an innovative platform to address the inefficiencies of legacy tax systems and the increasing complexity of tax code. This role offers a unique opportunity to build a product from the ground up, focusing on creating intuitive, efficient, and delightful user experiences for CPAs. You will be instrumental in translating complex requirements into elegant and functional user interfaces, ensuring performance, accessibility, and scalability.

Responsibilities

• Build the user-facing aspects of our innovative tax platform.
• Create intuitive, efficient, and delightful experiences for CPAs.
• Develop a collaborative tax workbench with real-time updates.
• Build dynamic forms and workflows, bridging database structures and user flows.
• Manage complex client state transitions and dependencies with multi-user collaboration and streaming updates.
• Collaborate closely with backend engineers, product managers, and designers.
• Ensure application performance, accessibility, and scalability.
• Own projects from conception to deployment with significant autonomy.

What We're Looking For

• Proven experience building complex, modern web applications, ideally with React and Next.js.
• Comfort and experience integrating AI tools into workflows (e.g., Cursor, Windsurf).
• Strong proficiency in Typescript and a deep understanding of frontend best practices.
• Product sense: ability to think from the user's perspective, contribute product ideas, and understand product/engineering tradeoffs.
• Excellent technical communication skills, especially in a remote, async-first environment.
• Pragmatic approach to engineering, balancing shipping with code quality and thoughtful design.
• Comfort with ambiguity and ability to operate effectively with minimal guidance.
• Fluency with AI tools like coding assistants as a baseline requirement.
• Focus on achieving the right outcome, comfortable respectfully challenging ideas and having your own challenged.
• Ability to own projects and drive them to completion.
