Requirements

Candidates should possess a Bachelor's degree or higher, preferably in a quantitative or technical field such as Computer Science, Engineering, Physics, or Math, and have at least 3 years of experience in web application development. Proficiency in React, Typescript, CSS, and HTML is required, along with experience in writing unit, integration, and E2E tests. Familiarity with React Query and React Hook Forms is beneficial, as is experience with CSS extension languages like Sass or Less. The ability to read and understand Java or a similar object-oriented language is also desired.

Responsibilities

As a Front-End Software Engineer at KAYAK, you will be responsible for developing compelling user experiences for millions of prospective travelers, taking end-to-end ownership of the UI, including testing, monitoring, and troubleshooting. You will make architectural decisions, build prototypes, review and scope feature requests, drive technical debt reduction, oversee code quality, and pair with other developers. You will also work on product features used by millions of people and contribute to innovative features during Hack Weeks.
