Previous food service management experience (2 years minimum) in a fresh foods environment, preferably in a management role
Flexibility to work weekend, holiday, and/or evening shifts and assist other locations as needed

Responsibilities
Direct and supervise all activities of the deli/food service department and its personnel to achieve merchandising, sales, and customer service goals
Direct department personnel to meet department goals and objectives
Communicate directly with store management and department supervisors
Select, on-board, and coach all new team members
Schedule all team members
Engage with customers through smiles and greetings, offer product information, provide selling suggestions and active sampling, and give a genuine thank you
Take customer orders and ensure orders are completed on time and to the customer’s satisfaction
Ensure department personnel follow all county, city, and company food safety and sanitation guidelines and policies
Order products and supplies to maintain adequate stock levels and merchandising standards
Oversee preparation, serving, and merchandising of deli/food service items (e.g., breakfast/lunch/dinner entrees, fried foods, pizzas, prepared salads, soups, sandwiches, roller grill items, hot/cold beverages, snack items)
Display deli/food service items following department and/or company merchandising guidelines
Follow product recipes without deviation
Rotate deli/food service items for sale to ensure quality, safety, and product shrink control
Receive merchandise and supplies, audit invoices, break down orders, and position products in storage areas, coolers, or freezers
Periodically count product for inventory purposes
Complete all paperwork in a timely and accurate manner
Process cash register transactions, give back change, and issue refunds
Use scale printer machine, ensuring weights and pricing are correct
Monitor product pricing, signage, placement, shelf tags, and shelf signage
Keep sales counters, food prep areas, warehouse shelving, walk-in coolers, and freezers clean, neat, and orderly
Ensure all department personnel use proper safety equipment and procedures
Perform other duties as needed or assigned by management
