Requirements

  • High School diploma or GED
  • 1–2 years of experience in maintenance and repair of medium/heavy-duty transportation equipment preferred
  • Valid state driver’s license required; CDL is a plus
  • Knowledge of DOT and FMCSA regulations as they pertain to maintenance and operation of transportation equipment
  • Strong troubleshooting skills and ability to read and interpret vehicle schematics and service manuals
  • Basic knowledge and use of computer systems and familiarity with Microsoft systems
  • Familiarity with hand and power tools including hydraulic jacks and pneumatic tools
  • Ability to lift, move, push, pull, and carry materials and components weighing up to 50 lbs unassisted

Responsibilities

  • Perform routine and scheduled preventative maintenance on medium and heavy-duty vehicles and equipment
  • Perform roadside repairs and reactive maintenance as needed
  • Inspect, diagnose, and repair mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems
  • Utilize diagnostic tools and software to identify issues and perform corrective actions
  • Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, inspections, and repairs
  • Practice safety awareness in all tasks, including lock-out/tag-out procedures and adherence to OSHA standards
  • Collaborate with fleet operations and other departments to ensure equipment readiness and minimize downtime
  • Organize parts, tools, and materials in designated areas for efficient workflow
  • Display a positive, team-oriented attitude and support management objectives
  • Work Saturday shifts as needed; 40-hour work week with opportunity for overtime
