Requirements

  • Proficiency in administrative duties like work orders, audits, reporting, and vendor contracts
  • Current knowledge of technical manuals, literature, and advancements in vehicle maintenance
  • Experience with fleet services budgeting, asset tracking, and efficiency improvements

Responsibilities

  • Manage daily work and safety of associates in fleet maintenance and repair
  • Handle labor hours and consumable supplies within budget
  • Monitor work schedules, including extra work days and shifts
  • Administer selection, purchase, and utilization of company assets for fleet maintenance
  • Coordinate processes and repairs with relevant departments
  • Ensure proper scheduling of truck maintenance, repairs, preventative maintenance, and inspections
  • Review fleet maintenance functions, operational reports, and expense reporting
  • Suggest efficiency ideas, cost reduction measures, and implement changes
  • Conduct daily audits for documentation accuracy (work orders, breakdowns, logs, inspections)
  • Oversee parts inventory and issue purchase orders based on needs
  • Develop and administer fleet services budget, including review of past income/expenses and purchases
  • Inspect budgets and third-party vendor contracts for efficiency
  • Assure proper licensing of fleet vehicles and annual inspections
  • Stay current with technical manuals and advancements in vehicle maintenance
  • Preserve associate relations through meetings, communication, and morale monitoring
  • Train and enforce company policies and procedures
  • Coordinate with Safety department for training, observations, accident investigations, and inspections
  • Make recommendations for disciplinary action or behavior modification
  • Perform duties of supervised associates as needed
  • Ensure compliance with company safety rules, re-certifications, and regulatory agencies (OSHA, DOT)
