Responsibilities

  • Oversee the identification and assessment of operational and non-operational risks and controls for Retail in alignment with Enterprise Risk requirements
  • Establish a model of continuous improvement, leveraging agile principles to identify areas of opportunity for control automation
  • Develop an operating model for how the team will interact within our Ops and Risk framework including governance, issues management and monitoring/testing
  • Collaborate with key stakeholders and business partners to build process map inventory for key processes
  • Build and strengthen strategic partnerships with internal business partners and across all lines of defense
  • Lead FLR talent employee development to support team member career growth and organizational effectiveness
  • Champion strategic initiatives within team of oversight and across FLR to meet strategic and long-term needs of the organization
  • Understand and adhere to the Company’s risk and regulatory standards, policies and controls in accordance with the Company’s Risk Appetite Statement
  • Promote an environment that supports belonging and reflects the M&T Bank brand
  • Maintain M&T internal control standards, including timely implementation of internal and external audit points together with any issues raised by external regulators as applicable
  • Complete other related duties as assigned
  • Exercise usual authority of a manager concerning staffing, performance appraisals, promotions, salary recommendations, performance management and terminations
  • Manage a team of three or more risk managers or analysts
