Requirements

  • Accomplished finance professional capable of leading finance function for $500M+ manufacturing operations
  • Experience in financial modeling, economic research, trends analysis (e.g., rates of return, depreciation, working capital, cash flow, investments, cost vs. budget, variance analysis, forecasting, financial planning, expense comparisons, profit/loss statements)
  • Ability to prepare reports of findings and recommendations, compile/consolidate financial plans, and provide insights to management
  • Expertise in developing, maintaining, and establishing operational specifications for financial information systems (considering information flow, volume, ad hoc reporting, analysis)
  • Capability to provide analysis on business development and monitor business performance by unit, division, or group
  • Leadership skills to serve as financial leader for manufacturing site, set vision for operational finance, align with business objectives
  • Experience overseeing site finance including cost accounting, financial planning & analysis, budgeting, forecasting, reporting for manufacturing/operations
  • Ability to lead, mentor, develop finance team, build high-performance culture
  • Partnership skills with operations leadership and cross-functional teams to drive operational excellence, cost management, strategic initiatives
  • Knowledge of financial oversight, business case evaluation, performance monitoring, actionable insights, resource allocation, margin improvement, capital planning, operational efficiency
  • Communication skills for transparent financial performance reporting to leaders, enabling data-driven decisions
  • Support for tax strategy/compliance in collaboration with global tax team
  • Willingness to be based in Juncos, Puerto Rico, with occasional travel

Responsibilities

  • Perform and analyze financial modeling, economic research, trends, and studies (e.g., rates of return, depreciation, working capital, cash flow, investments, cost vs. budget, variance analysis, forecasting, financial planning, expense comparisons via profit/loss or income statements)
  • Prepare reports of findings and recommendations, compile/consolidate financial plans, provide insights to management
  • Develop, maintain, establish operational specifications for financial information systems (information flow, volume, ad hoc reporting, analysis)
  • Provide analysis on business development and monitor business performance by unit, division, or group
  • Serve as financial leader for Medtronic Diabetes manufacturing site in Puerto Rico, setting vision for operational finance, aligning with business objectives
  • Oversee site finance: cost accounting, financial planning & analysis, budgeting, forecasting, reporting for manufacturing/operations
  • Lead, mentor, develop local finance team, build high-performance and continuous improvement culture
  • Partner with site operations leadership and cross-functional teams to drive operational excellence, cost management, strategic initiatives
  • Provide financial oversight for site activities, evaluate business cases, monitor performance, deliver actionable insights to optimize results
  • Guide resource allocation, margin improvement, capital planning, operational efficiency projects
  • Communicate financial performance transparently to site/regional leaders for data-driven decision-making
  • Support integration of finance into business activities and site strategic direction
  • Collaborate with global tax function on site-related tax topics, including compliance
  • Support future Transition Service Agreements (TSAs) for business continuity during Diabetes business IPO/separation
  • Other duties as assigned
