Requirements

  • A minimum of 3 years of professional localization experience
  • Excellent grammar and orthography knowledge in Filipino
  • Excellent Filipino and English linguistic and communication skills
  • Appreciation for sensitive issues (historical, political, social) from the Philippines and understanding of current language trends
  • Basic familiarity with the translation and dubbing industry in the region
  • Strong knowledge of localization and quality control tools
  • Strong motivation, high level of commitment, proactive attitude, ability to work effectively in a multicultural team, self-management skills, ability to meet tight deadlines, and a professional demeanor

Responsibilities

  • Provide linguistic guidelines
  • Own the language decisions
  • Set the creative direction and define the terminology of localized products and services
  • Provide linguistic feedback and recommendations to vendors and in-house localization teams to uphold Blizzard quality standards
  • Create and curate Blizzard Localization Style Guides for Filipino
  • Evaluate enUS -> fil-PH translations (in-game and out-of-game) to ensure a high-quality player experience
  • Monitor the accuracy and quality of bug fixes by partners
  • Formulate and execute quality improvement plans
  • Collaborate with Blizzard Localization team and other relevant stakeholders
  • Provide linguistic / cultural feedback to Blizzard in-house localization teams and other partners’ Filipino linguists
  • Collaborate with relevant stakeholders on initiatives aimed at improving player engagement and driving quality and efficiency
  • Participate in other editorial projects requiring cross-functional collaboration
