Requirements

  • Willingness to travel 100% to assigned multifamily communities, including regions like Maryland and New Jersey
  • Ability to work under the direction of the Compliance Manager
  • Capability for direct interaction with site teams and residents
  • Close collaboration skills with Operations and Compliance Department
  • Knowledge of federal, state, company guidelines, affordable HUD, and LIHTC program requirements

Responsibilities

  • Reviewing Affordable Housing applications to ensure eligibility and compliance with applicable regulatory requirements
  • Traveling to assigned multifamily communities to confirm and assist with completion of eligibility certifications for existing residents (continued occupancy) and applicants (initial occupancy)
  • Acting as a traveling specialist and auditor focused on occupancy requirements, best practices, and industry regulations
  • Scheduling and conducting resident/applicant interviews for certifications, working with site staff
  • Interviewing residents/applicants, reviewing paperwork, and interacting with involved parties to determine qualifications alongside site staff
  • Providing oversight of ongoing on-site certification and completion processes
  • Auditing resident files as applicable
  • Resolving site-level compliance-related deficiencies
  • Ensuring adherence to federal, state, and company guidelines, including affordable HUD and LIHTC program requirements
  • Ensuring timely and accurate completion of certifications, inspections, and audit readiness
