Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • Previous farm or animal care experience is a plus, but not required
  • Ability to work in varying weather conditions and perform physical labor
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
  • Standing, walking, bending, and lifting for extended periods
  • Exposure to dust, feathers, and farm odors
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions
  • Willingness to work early mornings, weekends, and holidays as needed
  • Must be dependable, punctual, and a team player
  • Willing and able to perform the physical requirements of the job with or without a reasonable accommodation

Responsibilities

  • Feed and water chickens according to established schedules and procedures
  • Monitor flock health and report any signs of illness or abnormal behavior
  • Clean and disinfect poultry houses, equipment, and surrounding areas
  • Collect eggs (if applicable) and ensure proper handling and storage
  • Assist with loading and unloading birds for transport
  • Maintain accurate records of feed usage, mortality, and production
  • Follow all biosecurity and safety protocols
  • Perform minor repairs and maintenance on farm equipment and facilities
  • Support other farm operations as needed
  • Assist the Service Technicians and other team members with weighing birds and moving pullets
