Requirements

  • Must be able to successfully complete a fingerprint supported background check(s), including but not limited to the ability to obtain and maintain a US Gov’t SECRET clearance and airport SIDA badges
  • Must be able to work independently with little or no supervision
  • Ability to act as a building contact in an on-call rotation with other team members
  • Ability to shift working schedule to meet the needs of the organization, with notice
  • Ability to obtain and maintain certifications in AED/First-Aid/CPR
  • Must live within an average 30-minute response radius to our Burlington, VT area facilities
  • Based on site in the Burlington, Vermont area and not eligible for remote work
  • Required to work an adjusted schedule, primarily evening hours

Responsibilities

  • Assessing risks and working to mitigate issues at a moment’s notice
  • Uses security systems to enforce/implement day-to-day security operations, including physical security measures, access control systems, video surveillance, alarm systems, and related protocols
  • Conducts regular checks/patrols of BETA owned/operated facilities to ensure compliance with physical security requirements and overall safety of BETA team members
  • Monitors access control systems and security cameras to detect abnormal/suspicious activity and remediate issues in an efficient and timely manner
  • Responds to security related incidents, including security alerts at BETA owned/operated facilities, security breaches, emergencies, or other incidents, and assists with response efforts
  • During emergencies, assists BETA team members with orderly evacuation, if required, and works with the safety team to ensure accountability of all team members on-site
  • Assists local first responders with access to facilities during emergencies and serves as resource to their efforts
  • Assists Team Members with security preparation and execution of protocols for medium to large scale events in or around BETA owned/operated facilities
  • Identifies potential threats and vulnerabilities to the organization's assets
  • Conducts compliance checks of personnel and visitors in accordance with export control and federal government regulation(s)
  • Assists with the implementation of enhanced physical security controls as required by external vendors & clients
  • Executing and ensuring compliance with BETA’s overall physical security program
  • Other related duties as assigned
