Requirements
Candidates should possess native fluency in the target language, extensive knowledge of the source language, and the ability to communicate fluently in English for production matters. A university degree or equivalent professional experience in the translation field is required, along with experience in localization QC, audiovisual translation and subtitling. Furthermore, candidates must demonstrate a deep understanding of subtitle and dub translation nuances, cultural differences, and best practices, as well as confidence with subtitle editing software and web/cloud technology.
Responsibilities
The Expert Subtitle Translator/QCer will be responsible for translating content from Korean into Traditional Chinese for subtitles, ensuring accuracy and quality. They will also monitor and interpret changes in employment legislation across North America and develop HR policies to ensure compliance. They will conduct audits, deliver training, and advise management on HR-related risk mitigation strategies. The role involves adapting blockbuster game franchises and ensuring accessibility for film and TV audiences, bridging language and cultural gaps with precision and creativity.
