Requirements

Bachelor's degree or 1-2 years related experience and/or training in Athletic Republic® performance sports training program
Certified Strength and Conditioning Coach - National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA) (preferred)
Visual acuity adequate to perform position duties
Ability to communicate effectively with others, hear, understand, and distinguish speech and other sounds

Responsibilities

Provides Athletic Republic® program services to regional athletes including evaluations, training, and documentation components, as assigned
Oversees and coordinates the delivery of the Athletic Republic® programs
Assists with daily operations of the Avera Human Performance Center
Demonstrates a working knowledge of various sports and athletic experience
Assists with daily building operations (batting cages, golf, turf grooming, basketball court preparations), facility cleaning, and front desk operations
Assists with daily delivery of Athletic Republic® training program (program prescription, design, and administration)
Spots and advises proper mechanics on treadmills (running and hockey)
Establishes rapport and works cooperatively with interdisciplinary team members (physicians, physical therapists, athletic trainers)
Enhances professional growth through participation in educational programs, current literature, in-service meetings, workshops, etc., and shares new knowledge with coworkers
Participates in program development of the department
Educates and advises athletes, coaches, and community members on proper training program design
Communicates effectively with athlete, family, coach, and other interdisciplinary team members regarding athlete's status, progress, and needs
Promotes Avera Sports Institute programs and services
