Requirements

  • Completed technical/scientific studies, Security & Safety Engineering or comparable qualification
  • Training as an occupational safety specialist, if possible supplemented by additional qualifications in the field of waste, water and emission protection
  • Sound knowledge of current occupational safety, health and environmental protection regulations
  • Professional experience in a comparable position
  • Initiative, assertiveness and willingness to take responsibility
  • Team/communication skills
  • Knowledge and experience of manufacturing safety
  • Proficiency both in English and in German (spoken and written)
  • Valid work permit or EU-25/EFTA citizenship
  • Ability to be in the office five days a week (no relocation offered)

Responsibilities

  • Ensure safety/health/environmental programs are compliant with company standards, government regulations, and adequacy relative to local conditions
  • Identify safety/health/environmental hazards inherent in the organization's operations and establish robust controls for protection from those hazards
  • Implement the corporate Safety Driven strategy
  • Engage with stakeholders at all levels to ensure safety/health/environmental collaboration
  • Ensure EHS training is completed to comply with regulatory requirements or in support of facility, division, or enterprise objectives
  • Conduct audits, inspections and acceptance of equipment and work procedures and, if necessary, define control measures
  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement and innovation in safety/health/environmental
  • Monitor periodic performance reports for trends and conditions, alert line management to problems and make recommendations for improvement
