Candidates must have managed an engineering team of at least 2 people, possess extensive experience with Backend (Elixir/Phoenix), demonstrate a commitment to promoting Remote's values, exhibit solid communication skills, possess solid knowledge of engineering and development principles and best practices, demonstrate proven organizational skills with attention to detail, prioritize efficient processes with a kind, people-first approach, be able to inspire others and instill confidence, and have a good understanding of team dynamics.

Responsibilities

The Engineering Team Leader will manage a small product team of 3-5 engineers (backend and frontend), spend 30% of their time doing management work while actively participating in product development, be involved in hiring processes for their own team and potentially assist peers, manage the onboarding process of new engineers, serve as the spokesperson for the team, manage team dynamics and bring out the best in team members, provide continuous and constructive feedback, help the team grow continuously, and be responsible for each direct report’s career, as well as provide guidance and coaching to the team.
