Requirements

Candidates should have 3+ years of experience managing engineering teams, preferably working on data platforms or developer tools. A strong technical background with the ability to make architectural decisions and guide technical discussions is required. Experience with distributed systems, scaled web applications, cloud platforms, container orchestration, and observability tools and practices is also necessary. Familiarity with A/B testing methodologies, statistical concepts, and experience managing projects with multiple stakeholder teams are essential. A commitment to open source values and collaborative development is important, as is experience working on remote, globally distributed teams. Experience building or operating experimentation platforms and knowledge of privacy-preserving analytics techniques are a plus.

Responsibilities

The Engineering Manager will lead a high-performing team building the experimentation platform, shaping its architecture and capabilities. They will foster a supportive team environment, coordinate team rituals, and manage team workstreams by tracking progress, resolving blockers, and managing dependencies. The manager will coach engineers in software engineering and architecture, guide career growth, and own technical decisions. They will partner with Product to help product teams adopt the platform, provide guidance on experimentation best practices, and facilitate conversations about long-term technical strategy. Responsibilities also include balancing feature delivery with quality, reliability, and scalability, being a strong voice and collaborator in team activities, partnering with peers on cross-team delivery, and collaborating with product analytics to ensure the platform supports meaningful experiment analysis.
