Candidates must have 7+ years of hands-on software engineering experience, preferably in distributed systems, and at least 3+ years of proven engineering management experience. A track record of growing teams and delivering complex projects is essential. Familiarity with Java, Python, or Go is required, along with experience in building developer tooling and SDKs. Candidates should also have experience with databases and familiarity with SQL, strong problem-solving abilities, and excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
The Engineering Manager will develop and execute the strategic vision for the Python tools, libraries, and Snowflake REST API with a focus on performance, quality, and scalability. They will oversee projects from ideation to deployment, ensuring timely delivery and quality. The manager will collaborate with other engineering teams and cross-functional units to improve the platform and provide feedback. Mentoring and coaching the team for skill advancement and career development is key. They will prioritize and allocate resources wisely, lead initiatives to share knowledge across teams, and advocate for best practices in testing, security, and established engineering processes.
