Requirements

10+ years of experience in software engineering, including 5+ years of experience in engineering management
Prior experience building out data infrastructure teams at scale
Experience in data infrastructure, including systems like data warehouse, batch compute infrastructure, data orchestration, data lake, ingestion systems
Well versed with infrastructure tooling such as Terraform
Worked with Kubernetes
Strong SRE skillset
Experience building and operating scalable, reliable, secure systems
Comfortable with ambiguity and rapid change
Voracious desire to learn and share knowledge clearly
Track record of building inclusive teams and caring about diversity, equity, and inclusion
Familiarity with technologies like Apache Spark, Apache Iceberg, Airflow, Kafka, Flink, Chronon

Responsibilities

Manage and support a diverse team of world-class data infrastructure engineers
Design, build, and maintain data infrastructure systems such as distributed compute, data orchestration, distributed storage, streaming infrastructure while ensuring scalability, reliability, and security
Ensure the data platform can scale reliably to the next several orders of magnitude
Accelerate company productivity by empowering engineers and teammates with excellent data tooling and systems
Bring new features and capabilities by partnering with product engineers, safety systems, and other teams to build technical foundations
Set technical direction on evolving compute and abstractions to support a growing business
Coach and nurture engineers to accelerate their growth and learning
