Position Overview

We are looking for an experienced Engineering Manager to join our team. This role involves building and managing full-stack engineering teams to guide the development of features, services, and infrastructure across both web and mobile platforms.

Responsibilities

• Build and manage full-stack engineering teams.
• Guide the development of features, services, and infrastructure across web and mobile.
• Coach direct reports to have a positive impact on the organization and support their career growth.
• Collaborate with engineers, designers, product managers, and senior leadership to translate vision into a quarterly roadmap.
• Break down complex projects into smaller pieces and lead iterative design and implementation.
• Act as a thoughtful technical voice, aiding in architectural decisions and fostering a culture of high-quality code and engineering processes.
• Collaborate with Product and Engineering teams to ensure successful delivery and operation of multi-tenanted, distributed systems at scale.
• Work closely with the talent organization to identify and recruit exceptional engineers aligned with Coinbase's culture.
• Contribute to and take ownership of processes that drive engineering quality and meet engineering SLAs.

Requirements

• At least 7 years of experience in software engineering.
• At least 2 years of engineering management experience.
• Strong understanding of high-quality code and effective software engineering processes, with the ability to foster these principles.
• Execution-focused mindset, capable of navigating ambiguity and delivering results.
• Ability to balance long-term strategic thinking with short-term planning.
• Experience in creating, delivering, and operating multi-tenanted, distributed systems at scale.
• Willingness to be hands-on when needed (writing/reviewing code, technical documents, participating in on-call rotations, leading incidents, triaging/troubleshooting bugs).
• Passion for building an open financial system that brings the world together.

Compensation

• Salary Range: $217,800 - $217,800 CAD
• Additional Compensation: Full-time offers include target bonus, target equity, and benefits (medical, dental, and vision).
