Requirements

Candidates should have proven experience leading and mentoring high-performing engineering teams, strong hands-on experience with Java (8+) and the Spring Framework, and a deep understanding of microservices and event-driven architectures. They should also possess a product mindset, focusing on customer impact, and strong experience designing and optimizing relational databases, along with a commitment to following and advocating best coding practices and continuous delivery.

Responsibilities

The Engineering Lead will support the team’s growth, guide architecture and technical design decisions, collaborate with cross-functional teams to support bank integrations and expand the payment network, drive engineering excellence through code reviews, mentoring, and adoption of best practices, and understand and contribute to team systems deeply enough to be hands-on when needed. They will also have an overview of the broader Wise platform squad, sharing learnings and shaping how we build software company-wide.
