The Advisor is responsible for selling new accounts and renewing existing accounts, building relationships with clients, prospects, and partners, and identifying sales prospects. The role requires a proactive approach to developing business and adhering to firm policies.

Requirements

  • Licenses:
    • Maintains all licenses as required by the State Department of Insurance to provide risk management consulting or risk transfer solutions.
    • Must be willing to obtain required licenses within 90 days.
  • Skills:
    • Intermediate to advanced knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, Publisher, and PowerPoint.
    • Ability to learn insurance company and firm software programs.
    • Core values aligned with corporate culture.
    • Strong verbal and written presentation skills.
    • Self-starter with the ability to influence others.
  • Physical Requirements:
    • Ability to lift up to 10 pounds.
    • Some walking, standing, reaching, and use of hands for the computer.

Responsibilities

  • Sales & Account Management:
    • Presents proposals in a professional manner, reviewing coverages in detail.
    • Communicates effectively with clients, prospects, insurance company partners, and the service team.
    • Finalizes sales and collects necessary documents.
    • Briefs the service team on policy sales.
  • Prospect Development:
    • Develops prospects through community affiliations, seminars, networking, and referrals.
    • Develops information and recommendations for prospective accounts.
    • Adheres to firm policies and procedures for writing new accounts.
  • Client & Partner Relations:
    • Maintains a concern for accuracy, timeliness, and completion when interacting with clients and partners.
    • Maintains understanding of the insurance industry and underwriting criteria.
    • Positively represents the firm in the community and with insurance company partners.
  • Administrative & Operational:
    • Performs other functions as assigned by leadership.
    • Looks for opportunities to improve firm processes.
    • Brings issues and discrepancies to the attention of appropriate leadership.
    • Meets monthly new business goals.
