Requirements

  • 3–5 years of experience in managing enterprise email security platforms
  • Strong understanding of email protocols (SMTP, IMAP, POP3), DNS, and general networking concepts
  • Experience in at least 2 of the following technologies: Valimail – DMARC, SPF, DKIM configuration and enforcement; Proofpoint Email Protection; Trend Micro Email Security; Microsoft Exchange (on-prem/hybrid); Microsoft 365 / Office 365; Email auditing and hygiene; Email routing and delivery troubleshooting; ITSM integration for incident and workflow tracking
  • Advantageous certifications: Microsoft 365 Security Administrator, SC-200, SC-400; CompTIA Security+; Vendor-specific email security credentials (e.g., Proofpoint, Valimail)
  • Deep subject matter expertise in email authentication, security protocols, and threat prevention
  • Ability to solve complex issues involving message headers, routing paths, and authentication anomalies
  • Ability to make independent decisions within policy guidelines

Responsibilities

  • Investigate and respond to malicious email threats, phishing campaigns, spoofing incidents, and business email compromise (BEC)
  • Administer and enhance configurations on email security platforms including Valimail, Proofpoint, and Trend Micro
  • Manage and enforce DMARC, SPF, and DKIM protocols using Valimail to ensure domain protection and message authenticity
  • Perform daily and monthly system health checks, reviewing traffic patterns, threat categorizations, and delivery performance
  • Coordinate with vendors and Technical Account Managers (TAMs) for feature rollouts, issue resolution, and governance activities
  • Implement and monitor email routing rules, spam filtering, policy enforcement, and reputation-based controls
  • Troubleshoot delivery failures, analyze Non-Delivery Reports (NDRs), and liaise with internal teams for root cause resolution
  • Maintain integration between Microsoft Exchange (on-prem/hybrid) and Office 365 environments
  • Provide support for internal and external audits, including data collection, compliance reporting, and evidence submission
  • Manage blocklists, allowlists, quarantine settings, and warning banners in user-facing messages
  • Conduct quarterly access reviews and ensure governance policies are consistently applied across platforms
  • Develop and enhance detection methods, policy frameworks, and threat mitigation strategies
  • Lead or contribute to cross-functional initiatives involving IT, cybersecurity, and compliance teams
  • Mentor junior team members and contribute to documentation, process refinement, and knowledge sharing
  • Represent the organization in vendor meetings and discussions with clients or auditors regarding email security posture
