Remote Advanced Competition Math Teacher

Position Overview

Think Academy US, a subsidiary of TAL Education Group, is an Ed-Tech company providing K-12 extra-curricular learning services through science and technology. We foster critical thinking, logic skills, and goal fulfillment in students through innovative teaching techniques. We are seeking a Remote Advanced Competition Math Teacher to work with students in grades 3-5. The ideal candidate will understand math concepts, prepare and deliver engaging lessons based on our curriculum, explain concepts, demonstrate problem-solving techniques, and cater to diverse student needs.

Responsibilities

• Teach competition-level higher elementary mathematics virtually via the Think Academy Teaching Platform.
• Actively engage and manage online classrooms with up to 18 students.
• Prepare and deliver lessons using Think Academy's curriculum and teaching guidance.
• Grade homework and provide other essential teaching-related services.
• Communicate effectively with students and parents, offering timely and personalized feedback.
• Typically work 30-40 hours per week, primarily during weekends or weekday afternoons, depending on assigned classes.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or above; all majors are welcome, with a preference for Education or STEM-related majors.
• Eligibility to apply if currently pursuing or in progress of obtaining a Bachelor's degree.
• Prior math teaching experience is not required but is a plus.
• Math competition learning or teaching experience is a plus.
• High-energy, enthusiastic, and charismatic personality with the ability to engage and excite students effectively.
• Commitment to teaching for more than two semesters starting from the 2025 Summer Semester (Fall: Aug – Dec; Spring: Jan - May; Summer: June - Aug).
• Availability and willingness to work during weekday evenings and weekends.
• Passion for teaching and the education industry, with a high level of responsibility and a love for working with children.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Pay Structure

• Teaching Hours: $30-$35/hr (Teachers will be assigned 3-7 classes per week)
• Administrative Hours (Lesson Prep, Grading, Parent Communication): $16-$20/hr
• Yearly Salary Estimate (1st year Total Target Compensation): $40,000-$50,000
