Requirements

  • British Citizen or Dual UK national with British citizenship
  • Ability to undergo HMG Basic Personnel Security Standard checks (BPSS)
  • Undergraduate student suitable for a 3-month summer placement

Responsibilities

  • Work with a small team of undergraduate summer placement students to plan, manage, design, and deliver a missile-related project
  • Develop skills in detailed circuit design, analogue and digital circuit test techniques, analysis and characterisation techniques, manufacturing (machining, PCB manufacture, circuit card assembly), and test & evaluation of design
  • Spend time in the lab building experimental hardware
  • Potentially write software and firmware
  • Use schematic design tool (Zuken)
  • Develop time management and project planning skills
  • Potentially use modelling & simulation tools such as Matlab and Simulink
  • Work independently, in focused electronics teams, and in dynamic multi-disciplinary teams (integrating with mechanical, software, and servomechanism design)
  • Occasionally travel to other MBDA sites (primarily work onsite in Stevenage)
