Requirements

  • Minimum 3-5 years commercial or industrial experience as Journeyman electrician, with fire alarm expertise
  • High school diploma or equivalent, plus apprenticeship and/or formal training in the specialty
  • Ability to pass security criminal background check
  • Ability to read blueprints, bend and thread rigid conduit, wire and terminate devices, perform quality control testing and troubleshooting
  • Working knowledge of installing electrical systems in new and renovation construction settings
  • Proficient in troubleshooting systems, wiring systems, demo systems, wiring devices, and understanding circuitry
  • Proficient working with live switchgear, with understanding and use of proper PPE
  • Ability to lift, push, pull, and move moderately heavy objects; ascend/descend ladders
  • Willing to work nights/weekends/overtime as required
  • Good communication skills to interact with project managers, subordinates, vendors, other trades, and professionals
  • Possession of reliable transportation and basic hand tools
  • OSHA 10 Certification and CPR training (a plus)
  • Licensed Electrician (a plus)
  • Previous service/maintenance experience (a plus)

Responsibilities

  • Inspects and evaluates electrical equipment to ensure efficient and safe operation; verifies compliance with National Electrical Code
  • Studies blueprints and schematics to plan materials and labor for tasks
  • Inspects, repairs, installs, modifies, and maintains electrical systems, circuits, and equipment
  • Performs related work as assigned
