Requirements

  • High School diploma or GED
  • 2+ years of prior experience in an electronic assembly environment or as an electrician’s apprentice
  • Technical Drawing Acumen: Ability to read and understand a wide range of controls and electrical manufacturing drawings, including HPI drawings and cable color coding
  • Basic hand tool skills, including drilling and tapping of metal, using correct fixings, and measuring, stripping, crimping, and cutting wires
  • Adherence to Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) guidelines
  • Strong understanding of industry manufacturing procedures and best practices
  • Accurate understanding of cable sizing, ferrule and crimp sizes for secure terminations
  • Basic knowledge of differences between power and control wiring
  • Basic knowledge of field cabling techniques, installing cables, conduit, cable-tray, trunking, and mounting field devices
  • Ability to terminate cables to instrumentation, marshaling cabinets, and junction boxes
  • Understanding of maintaining sufficient material levels for uninterrupted manufacturing

Responsibilities

  • Communicate daily department production details, including schedules, material shortages, and team priorities; assign work activities and plan coverage for absences; provide status updates to Shop Foreman on constraints and needs
  • Oversee team's safety and quality, ensuring job standards and safety procedures are met
  • Train and coach team members on project tasks, assess skills, and identify training needs
  • Perform hands-on wiring and assembly tasks
  • Read and interpret technical drawings for accurate execution
  • Adhere to manufacturing procedures and HPI assembly, wiring, and looming standards
  • Manage cable terminations and organization
  • Liaise with project engineers and team members on manufacturing, drawing standards, and procedures
  • Install field cabling, devices, and related infrastructure
  • Coordinate daily team performance to meet schedules with zero quality or safety incidents, while working hands-on and mentoring for continuous improvement
