Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent and relevant formal academic/vocational qualification (or equivalency of appropriate education, training, and/or directly related experience)
  • Previous experience providing knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the job (comparable to 5+ years)
  • Knowledge of laboratory protocols, Laboratory Safety Standard, OSHA, and HAZCOM
  • Knowledge of Health and Safety related programs, incident and injury prevention
  • In-depth knowledge of OSHA, EPA, DOT, IATA, and other applicable regulations
  • Knowledge of worker's compensation requirements, laboratory and hazardous waste regulations (including hazardous chemical/biohazard storage and disposal)
  • Ability to plan, schedule, and carry out work for successful project completion
  • Positive attitude, ability to work well with others, and excellent attention to detail
  • Ability to communicate effectively and follow detailed written and verbal instructions
  • Understanding of Industrial Hygiene monitoring strategies
  • Strong presentation skills and ability to provide effective training
  • Solid problem-solving skills

Responsibilities

  • Maintains environmental, health, and safety programs and supports multiple sites across the organization
  • Assists management team with monitoring environmental compliance and safety metrics (e.g., chemical safety, ergonomics, illness and injury prevention)
  • Ensures that all Licensing, Permitting, or other environmental health & safety requirements are met and resolves non-compliance issues
  • Conducts compliance training, audits, and inspects sites or lab environments to ensure compliance with global occupational safety and health standards
  • Recommends corrective action where hazards or risks exist
  • Completes risk assessments through observation of tasks and use of existing templates (may be chemical, biological, ergonomic, or task-based)
