Requirements

Broad knowledge of EHS compliance programs and EHS specialty areas including Industrial Safety, Environmental Engineering, Safety Engineering, and Risk Management
Understanding and knowledge to lead and support Safety at the site in key areas such as confined space, process safety, machinery safety, electrical and utilities safety, injury and illness prevention, incident investigation (RCA), risk assessments, regulatory compliance, internal auditing, EHS training, and behavioral safety
Knowledge of federal, state, and local environmental regulations including air, water, soil, waste, and sustainability requirements as they pertain to the site and associated properties
Ability to provide guidance in managing budgets to support outside services and operating expenses
Capability for strategic EHS planning and tactical role for site-wide EHS systems, EHS regulations, and best practices

Responsibilities

Establish, implement, manage, and continuously improve the environment, health, and safety programs for the facility
Implement Haleon’s Environmental strategic objectives & targets and manage related Environmental programs
Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations as they apply to the protection of the environment including all company assets
Complete all required Environmental Regulatory and Haleon reporting requirements on time and follow-up immediately regarding any gaps in compliance
Develop and monitor a compliance calendar system which will ensure that all required environmental reporting requirements are submitted on time
Coordinate compliance with environmental regulations including liaison with regulatory agencies and inspectors
Establish programmes to identify, assess and control environmental exposure risks to air, water, soil, and waste as it pertains to the site
Develop strategies and programmes to manage exposures and control environmental hazards to meet applicable regulations and company standards
Manage the site’s compliance in handling and disposal of hazardous and infectious waste
Establish programs to manage the site’s different EHS risks and impacts, coordinated within an overall EHS management system
Review change proposals (including capital projects and new product introductions) to identify potential EHS issues and participate in their resolution
Prevent environmental exposures by protecting employees and the company through recommending strategies and solutions to minimize exposure to harmful elements and conditions
