Candidates should possess a Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science, or a related field, or have at least 3 years of related experience. A professional certification in EHS, such as CSP or CIH, is highly desirable. Applicants must have working knowledge of ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 certification processes, along with a minimum of 3 years of experience in EHS leadership roles within a manufacturing environment. In-depth knowledge of local, state, and federal EHS regulations, environmental compliance, sustainability practices, and ISO standards is required.
The EHS Manager will develop and implement comprehensive EHS programs to ensure compliance with local, state, federal, and ISO regulations. They will design strategies to continuously improve safety performance and foster a safety culture within the manufacturing site. The manager will coordinate and execute corrective and preventative action plans to close any gaps found through internal and external auditing programs. They will also develop and implement sustainability initiatives to reduce the environmental impact of manufacturing operations, set and track sustainability goals related to energy consumption, waste reduction, and resource efficiency. Regular risk assessments will be conducted to identify potential workplace hazards and implement measures to control and mitigate risks. The manager will continuously monitor production activities for adherence to safety practices and create and update safety policies and procedures in alignment with regulatory requirements and industry best practices. Additionally, they will communicate and train employees on safety protocols and emergency procedures.
