Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in a relevant technical discipline, Communications, Marketing, English or equivalent (or equivalent combination of education and work experience)
  • Minimum 1 year as a technical writer, preferably in a medical device company environment
  • Comprehensive written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong interpersonal, presentation, analytical, and project management skills
  • Ability to prioritize and handle a large volume of projects simultaneously and meet deadlines
  • Highly organized and attentive to detail
  • Experience working in a broader enterprise/cross-division business unit model (preferred)
  • Ability to work in a highly matrixed and geographically diverse business environment
  • Ability to work within a team and as an individual contributor in a fast-paced, changing environment
  • Ability to leverage and/or engage others to accomplish projects
  • Expert English in both verbal and written communications with ability to effectively communicate at multiple levels in the organization

Responsibilities

  • Working within the confines of the Abbott Quality Assurance policy as well as domestic and international regulatory requirements, writes, edits, and formats a wide variety of assigned documents
  • Collaborates with marketing, regulatory, and department leads, among others, to ensure accuracy and completeness
  • Coordinates with translation service for documentation translation projects
  • Leads projects to improve departmental processes that require cooperation from other functional groups
  • Troubleshoots existing processes with functional groups
  • Remains current on process developments and knowledge of the company's policies, objectives, including regulatory requirements and restrictions
  • Supports all Company initiatives as identified by management and in support of Quality Management Systems (QMS), Environmental Management Systems (EMS), and other regulatory requirements
  • Complies with Company policies, operating procedures, processes, task assignments and other regulatory and OEC requirements
  • Maintains positive and cooperative communications and collaboration with all levels of employees, customers, contractors, and vendors
