Responsibilities

  • Leads the maturing of the existing risk program related to capital adequacy and liquidity, while enhancing the processes for risk scanning, scenario inventorying, tabletop exercises, and risk modeling to ensure greater robustness and resilience, including developing and applying structured methodologies to identify plausible loss scenarios, assessing correlations and probabilities, and translating insights into inputs to capital and liquidity targets
  • Provides risk guidance and oversight services to the business based on Vanguard's operational and strategic risk frameworks, ensuring the development and implementation of effective divisional risk appetite and metrics
  • Leads and assists the business in the development, implementation, and management of short- and long-term risk management strategies in accordance with department goals and objectives, standard risk management policies and procedures, and the overall risk strategy
  • Works with the business to mitigate risks and optimize process efficiency, uses expert industry best practice knowledge to design effective controls, and makes recommendations for developing risk management strategies
  • Provides consultation, facilitation, and analytical support to the divisional management team as new products, services, and processes are developed to ensure risk is appropriately mitigated
  • Develops and maintains strong relationships with clients to understand their ongoing risk needs and acts as a thought partner to the business
  • Participates in special projects and performs other duties as assigned
