Requirements

Licensed pharmacist capable of practicing in multiple locations within the district
Ability to travel throughout the district to fill pharmacist shifts as scheduled
Flexibility for scheduling and business needs
Maintain relevant clinical and technical skills, including company-required trainings and CMEs
Understanding and compliance with all relevant federal and state laws, regulations, professional standards, ethical principles, CVS Health policies, procedures, and controlled substance requirements

Responsibilities

Live CVS Health's purpose by managing and improving patient health through safe and appropriate dispensing, counseling, and immunizing practices
Travel the district to fill pharmacist shifts as scheduled by the District Performance Coordinator (DPC); oversee the pharmacy and serve as the Pharmacy Manager’s proxy during bench shifts without overlap
Support safe and accurate prescription fulfillment by following—and directing the pharmacy team to follow—pharmacy workflow procedures and utilizing safety guardrails at every workstation
Assume Pharmacy Manager’s day-to-day duties when serving as the only or primary pharmacist-on-duty
Contribute to positive patient experiences by showing empathy and genuine care, coaching the pharmacy team, demonstrating compassionate care, collaborating with the patient’s total healthcare team, and proactively resolving insurance and/or medication issues
Proactively offer and deliver immunizations to keep patients healthy; engage and support Pharmacy Technicians to learn to immunize
Support effective management of pharmacy inventory by following—and guiding the pharmacy team to follow—all inventory best practices, with a special focus on protecting cold chain products
Remain flexible for both scheduling and business needs while contributing to a safe, inclusive, and engaging team dynamic
Actively seek opportunities to expand knowledge to better support patients
Support access to care and improve patient outcomes through pharmacist-delivered clinical care such as testing and prescribing services (e.g., COVID/Flu, Hormonal Contraception) where permissible; empower the pharmacy team to provide holistic care
Model CVS Health values, demonstrate genuine authentic care for patients, and act as a role model for the pharmacy team to cultivate a culture of excellence
