Responsibilities

  • Live CVS Health's purpose by managing and improving patient health through safe and appropriate dispensing, counseling, and immunizing practices
  • Travel the district to fill pharmacist shifts as scheduled by the District Performance Coordinator (DPC); oversee the pharmacy and serve as the Pharmacy Manager’s proxy during bench shifts without overlap
  • Support safe and accurate prescription fulfillment by following—and directing the pharmacy team to follow—pharmacy workflow procedures and utilizing safety guardrails at every workstation
  • Assume Pharmacy Manager’s day-to-day duties when serving as the only or primary pharmacist-on-duty
  • Contribute to positive patient experiences by showing empathy and genuine care, coaching the pharmacy team, demonstrating compassionate care, collaborating with the patient’s total healthcare team, and proactively resolving insurance and/or medication issues
  • Proactively offer and deliver immunizations to keep patients healthy; engage and support Pharmacy Technicians to learn to immunize
  • Support effective management of pharmacy inventory by following—and guiding the pharmacy team to follow—all inventory best practices, with special focus on protecting cold chain products
  • Remain flexible for scheduling and business needs while contributing to a safe, inclusive, and engaging team dynamic
  • Actively seek opportunities to expand knowledge to better support patients
  • Empower the pharmacy team to provide holistic care at every step in the patient care journey
  • Comply with controlled substance procedures to support patient safety
