Director, Technical Consulting Services (Workday) - EMEA

Position Overview
Cognizant is seeking a Director, Technical Consulting Services to manage Workday data, integrations, Prism, Reporting, Extend, and AI initiatives across the EMEA region. This role will align with global Workday practice and Cognizant wider EPS initiatives. The Director will oversee a team of expert managers, set strategic direction for these critical areas, and collaborate with Cognizant Workday Practice leaders. A key aspect of this role involves supporting the sales team with activities such as orals, estimations, and Statement of Work (SOW) creation. This individual will act as a liaison between the Consulting team and executive management, working closely with Engagement Managers, Project Managers, Managing Consultants, and leads. Responsibilities also include identifying business needs, staffing projects, and ensuring consultant work/life balance.
Key Responsibilities
Project Oversight
- Provide oversight for projects across the practice.
- Assist and oversee engagement/project managers and team members in identifying project needs, mitigating risks, and developing solutions and strategies.
Sales Support
- Support the RFP response and pursuit process for technical consulting work.
- Resource appropriate technical experts and fulfill the technical role in sales engagements.
Team Leadership
- Assist in the recruitment, development, and management of a diverse, remote team of consultants supporting Workday applications.
- Foster a team-oriented, challenging, and innovative work environment.
- Lead and manage Senior Managers and/or Managing Consultants to ensure adherence to Workday and Cynergy Implementation Methodology processes and procedures.
- Drive team and individual performance to achieve high customer satisfaction levels.
- Establish immediate credibility with clients and within the company, building consensus and achieving goals through influence.
- Build trust-based relationships and identify/foster business development opportunities.
People Development
- Act as a mentor and coach to team members.
- Analyze team skills and facilitate cross-training to ensure appropriate project staffing capabilities.
- Advise management on team members' expertise levels and availability.
Performance Management
- Establish direct reports' goals and objectives during the bi-annual review process.
- Direct the collection of performance feedback from customers and engagement/project managers quarterly or upon project completion for the entire team.
- Direct the collection of all internal contributions for team members, ensuring data is provided to HR quarterly.
- Drive the bi-annual performance review process for the Consulting team.
Experience and Requirements
- Experience: 7-10 years of Workday (or other ERP) Technical Consulting implementation experience.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent.
- Leadership: Proven experience leading a virtual team.
- Characteristics: Fast learner, detail-oriented, decisive, and comfortable in fast-paced work environments.
- Collaboration: Ability to work effectively within and across teams to achieve objectives.
- Sales Engagement: Experience in sales engagements, including estimating and presenting to prospects.
