Candidates must possess a bachelor’s degree and a minimum of 10 years of experience in Consumer-Packaged Goods (CPG) sales or cross-functional roles, demonstrating an in-depth understanding of the ecommerce landscape and Pet Specialty Channel dynamics. They should have people management experience, including developing high-performing teams, along with financial acumen encompassing eComm, Pet Specialty, and Smucker’s full P&L to drive business results. Expertise in ecommerce capabilities and data-driven decision-making is also required, along with experience in leading negotiations with external business partners.
As Director, Specialty Markets, the individual will be responsible for developing eCommerce strategy and operations for the Pure Play business, leading a cross-functional team, and driving profitable sales growth within the Pet Specialty Channel. This includes developing strategic plans, supporting VP of Sales, managing customer relationships, coaching sales leads, defining price/pack architecture, optimizing digital shelf fundamentals, co-leading with Supply Chain on eCommerce operations, and contributing to a culture of speed to action and data-driven experimentation. They will also be responsible for developing annual operating plans, conducting monthly business reviews, and pivoting strategies as needed.
