Graphite is a technology-enabled growth agency that helps fast-growing companies like Masterclass, Notion, and BetterUp unlock sustainable revenue through content and SEO. We’re obsessed with impact— it’s foundational to who we are, why we’re successful, and how we approach delivering outcomes for clients and ultimately, everyone on the internet. We are a fully distributed company with team members located across North America, Latin America, and Europe. Come join us and help us create the best content, everywhere that matters.

The rapid growth of our technology-enabled agency business has put us in an exciting position to grow our team of strategic accounts, which has been foundational to our agency's success. As a result, we are searching for an experienced Director of Paid Marketing with a strong academic background in business or any STEM-related major, to support us in our growth. This role requires you to be resourceful, creative, and persistent to make paid marketing a successful strategic initiative for partners. You feel comfortable managing multiple projects and working in a performance-driven environment while cultivating a strong sense of team and collaboration. This is a fully remote work opportunity.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and Execute Paid Growth Strategies: Lead the creation and management of comprehensive paid acquisition strategies across digital platforms (Google Ads, Facebook, LinkedIn, etc.) to fuel app downloads, owner-operator acquisition, and B2B demand generation for SMB fleets.
  • Campaign Management: Oversee the end-to-end management of paid campaigns, including keyword research, audience targeting, bid management, and creative strategy. Test and optimize across channels to maximize incrementality on conversions and revenue.
  • Channel Optimization: Identify and evaluate new and existing paid channels for effectiveness in driving acquisition at scale, focusing on optimizing for return-on-ad-spend (ROAS), cost-per-install (CPI), cost-per-lead (CPL), and cost-per-acquisition (CPA).
  • Performance Tracking & Reporting: Analyze performance data and provide actionable insights to optimize campaigns. Create regular reports on key metrics (CAC, LTV, CTR, ROAS) and provide recommendations for scaling and improving efficiency, always with an eye on incrementality.
  • Collaboration with Cross-Functional Teams: Work closely with the product, sales, and operations teams to align paid media strategies with broader business objectives, ensuring seamless execution of campaigns and alignment with product offerings.
  • Budget Management: Own the paid marketing budget, ensuring that spend is effectively allocated to meet growth goals while optimizing for efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
  • A/B Testing: Run creative and copy A/B tests to refine and improve messaging across all paid marketing efforts.
  • Market Research & Audience Insights: Stay on top of industry trends and conduct market research to understand the competitive landscape and find new opportunities to expand market reach.

Requirements

  • Executive Stakeholder Management: Proven trajectory of managing stakeholders at the VP level or above.
  • People Management: Experience overseeing and managing a team of direct collaborators.
  • Project Management: Experience managing client deliverables promptly. Leveraging communications to ensure all strategies and deliverables will be delivered on time.
  • Data Analysis & User Journey Obsession: Exceptional data analysis skills (you are the go-to spreadsheet person on your team). You fully understand and obsess over every step of the user journey from clicks to conversion, leveraging data to continuously improve campaign performance and identify areas of opportunity.
  • Expert-Level Paid Search: Demonstrated expert-level proficiency in Paid Search (SEM). You consistently push beyond basic best practices, thinking strategically to outsmart algorithms and competitors to drive bottom-of-funnel conversions.

Graphite

Monitors and visualizes time-series data

About Graphite

Graphite is a software tool that focuses on monitoring and visualizing time-series data, which consists of data points collected at specific intervals. It was initially developed in 2006 and became open-source in 2008, allowing it to be widely adopted by large companies. Graphite's main function is to help businesses store, retrieve, share, and visualize their time-series data, but it does not collect data itself. Instead, it allows users to input metrics into its database, making it essential for monitoring performance metrics like application performance and database request times. Unlike many competitors, Graphite operates on both low-cost hardware and cloud infrastructure, making it accessible for various clients, including e-commerce platforms and software development communities. The company generates revenue through support services, custom development, and consulting, ensuring that businesses can maximize the use of the tool while contributing to its ongoing development.
