Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Merchandising or a related field (will accept any suitable combination of education, experience, and training)
  • 10+ years of experience in merchandising and/or retail buying
  • Footwear, apparel, and/or equipment merchandising experience
  • Management experience
  • Consumer industry and insights competence
  • Strong retail acumen
  • Ability to translate insights and retail results into actionable strategies and plans
  • Experience developing and implementing product strategy
  • Experience in multi-season assortment planning and pricing
  • Cross-functional leadership and partnership
  • Strong communication and leadership skills with ability to collaborate, influence, and inspire across a complex and highly creative organization
  • Excellent written, presentation, and verbal communication up to the senior executive level and out to wide, diverse audiences

Responsibilities

  • Report to the Senior Director of Jordan NA Merchandising and manage a team of Nike Direct Digital and Stores merchants across x-Sport and x-Business Units of Footwear, Apparel, and Accessories, across multiple levels
  • Support the Senior Director of Jordan NA Nike Direct
  • Partner heavily with cross-functional Nike Direct partners, cross-sport Jordan NA Merchandising teams, and Nike NA Direct partners in a highly matrixed organization
  • Serve the Jordan Direct consumer across Physical & Digital channels
  • Enable long-term strategic growth of the Jordan Brand and meet or exceed sales, margin, and other business targets
  • Develop and own the product portfolio and merchandising strategies for Owned Channels, adapting Global Strategy/strategic intent to be Geo & Jordan Direct-consumer right
  • Support achieving financial targets & long-term strategic growth of new & diverse product offerings
  • Drive franchise health across owned channels through effective assort, buy, and trade decisions
  • Influence retail marketing to bring assortments to life and support seasonal investment strategies
  • Communicate business performance, opportunities, consumer trends, & competitive landscape with cross-functional teams & Consumer merchandising to inform line plan decisions (incl. GEL & T-100)
  • Obsess over and know the Jordan Direct Consumer: connect to the consumer, culture, and fashion trends to inform assortment curation and anticipate product opportunities
  • Understand the competitive landscape and product architecture of competitors & aspirational brands – share insights with x-Sport teams and cross-functional partners
  • Execute seasonal readiness, deliver CODE calendar, & serve as systems expert
  • Connect with Global Jordan Direct Merchandising team to ensure alignment and elevation of North America priorities
  • Lead the merchandising strategy for Jordan Footwear and Apparel inclusive of financial strategies, key franchise management, line planning, and leading a diverse Geo Merch team
  • As a key member of the Jordan North America Merchandising Leadership team, bring a long-term lifestyle footwear and apparel vision to life via Consumer-led Product Plans and Assortment strategies
  • Lead team through key moments of line planning, merchandising assortment review, and Geo merchandising handover to Sales
  • Maintain direct feedback loops with the Geo Marketplace, Nike Direct Merchandising, and Global Merchandising leaders to ensure Geo integration
