Position Overview

As a Director, Insurance Partnerships within our Asia Insurance Team, you will be instrumental in leading the development and optimization of Cover Genius’s partnerships with our insurer panel across Asia. The primary objective is the effective placement of our business and the optimization of these partnerships in alignment with clear company KPIs and goals.

To excel in this role, you will possess strong commercial acumen, a thorough understanding of General Insurance, a robust network within the primary insurance market, and ideally, experience in Broking or MGA risk placement. As the leader of the Insurance Partnerships function, you will manage our relationships with key insurance partners, negotiate insurance and commercial terms, and consistently strive to maximize our profit bottom line. Regular collaboration with Cover Genius’s Partnerships and Partner Services teams, who generate and manage our distribution partner accounts, as well as third-party insurers, will be crucial to ensuring the most effective and timely placement of business and the best commercial terms for Cover Genius’s Asia Insurance team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Own the insurance carrier strategy and develop a strong, sustainable panel of insurance partners across the Asia region.
  • Oversee the effective placement and ongoing operational management of CG business with these insurance partners within prescribed timelines, including ownership of reporting, payments, due diligence, and audits.
  • Drive an innovative and disruptive culture within the business and with our partners, leading your team to ensure the highest standards of conduct are maintained.
  • Lead negotiations of insurance contracts with the aim of maximizing CG’s ‘insurance led margin’ while ensuring the longevity and stability of CG’s Asia Insurance partnerships.
  • Develop and own Insurance Partner monitoring dashboards ensuring clear expectations, targets, and results, with a focus on operational, compliance, performance, and efficiency metrics.

Skills & Experience

  • A minimum of 8 years of experience in the insurance market, preferably at a broker, insurer, Third-Party Administrator, or MGA, with a focus on partnerships and insurance placements.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage and motivate a high-performing team of insurance product/partnership and pricing professionals.
  • Proven track record in owning and developing insurance partnerships and ongoing portfolio management.
  • Experience in creating concise pitch documents to support business placement or partner negotiations.
  • Ability to communicate complex ideas clearly and concisely, both verbally and in writing.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to advocate for customer solutions.
  • Experience working in producing business in multiple markets globally is advantageous.
  • Demonstrated experience in product entry strategies.
