Requirements

Experienced professional in legal and operational issues related to data management and information governance
Ability to provide operational guidance on data management tools and processes (e.g., data classification, identification and remediation of redundant, obsolete, and trivial information)
Expertise in providing legal input and analysis on technology and data management issues, including regulatory, eDiscovery, and other legal matters
Strategic leadership skills to drive global Information Governance (IG) and Records program with ties to eDiscovery
Ability to partner with senior stakeholders across Legal, IT, Privacy, Quality, Audit, and other corporate functions
Experience working with key stakeholders across corporate functions, organizational levels, divisions, and countries

Responsibilities

Lead and partner on cross-functional data management initiatives with senior leaders in Legal, IT, Privacy, Quality, Audit, and other corporate functions
Act as primary liaison and subject matter expert on IG and records matters, collaborating with stakeholders to provide policies, procedures, and guidelines
Build strong relationships with business partners by providing responsive, practical support that manages risk and supports business objectives
Manage the records management platform (including electronic data and hard-copy records) and its complex integrations with company data sources
Identify and leverage new and existing technologies to mitigate risk and achieve operational efficiencies (e.g., data minimization, retention, sensitivity labeling, auto-classification, GenAI, analytics, defensible data deletion)
Support Abbott’s adoption and use of Generative AI tools and their impact on eDiscovery and IG (e.g., develop policies, processes, and guidelines)
Provide strategic oversight and guidance on complex technology projects, including records system enhancements, file share governance tools, and archiving legacy systems
Develop, implement, and maintain defensible policies, procedures, and guidelines for compliance, risk mitigation, and operational efficiency
Advance the global IG function by managing information to reduce risk, maximize value, and increase efficiency
Formulate best practices for managing corporate information and data systems
