Requirements

  • Degree in Public Health, Political Science, Pharmaceuticals, Law, or related field
  • 5+ years of experience in health policy, government affairs, or public health advocacy
  • Strong understanding of Spanish healthcare systems and policy-making processes
  • Proven ability to build and maintain trustful relationships with policy makers and parliamentarians
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and project management skills
  • Fluency in Spanish and professional proficiency in English

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute strategic plans related to national and local healthcare and pharmaceutical policies, legislation and regulations
  • Lead policy advocacy initiatives to influence healthcare policies that improve patient access and support innovation in key therapeutic areas, ensuring compliance with all internal and external standards
  • Establish and maintain relationships with government stakeholders, including policymakers, regulatory authorities, and policy advisors, to advocate for Gilead’s mission and priorities at national and regional levels
  • Monitor and analyze policy and legislative developments, identifying opportunities and risks for Gilead’s portfolio and strategic priorities
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with Medical Affairs, Market Access, Public Affairs, and Marketing to ensure integrated policy positions and evidence-based arguments underpin all policy proposals
  • Represent Gilead in external fora, ensuring the company’s interests are effectively communicated and protected
  • Manage projects and budgets effectively, ensuring timely delivery and resource optimization
  • Adopt an outcome-based mindset, ensuring every activity contributes to measurable policy progress and business impact
  • Leverage policy-relevant evidence to support advocacy and strategic decision-making
  • Analyze health system data, policy trends, and stakeholder landscapes to identify actionable insights
  • Prepare reports, dashboards, and briefing materials to inform internal teams and external engagements
  • Participate in global initiatives when relevant, sharing best practices and rolling out global initiatives in the affiliate
