A Bachelor's degree in business, Finance, or Accounting is required, along with a minimum of 5 years of financial management experience. A strong foundation in healthcare financials, experience in strategic planning, accounting, and financial analysis are essential. Excellent communication, presentation, interpersonal, and organizational skills are necessary, as is experience in data analysis and performance measurement. A Master's degree and CPA credential are preferred, as is prior experience in Medicaid or state partnership finance.
The Director, Financial Planning & Analysis will analyze and forecast financial data to support strategic and operational decisions, providing market-specific financial leadership for Humana's Michigan HIDE Plan with a focus on Medicaid and state partnership. This role includes overseeing the budget, financial reporting, and audit activities, coordinating day-to-day financial operations with the health plan CEO, and managing overall Market profit and loss (P&L). Responsibilities also encompass developing financial analysis, identifying month-end financial drivers, forecasting, headcount planning, performing financial impact analysis for new contracts, developing strategic plans, managing long-term plans and annual budgets, identifying medical cost trends, leading medical cost improvement initiatives, providing leadership in rate and pricing development, supporting value-based program development, and ensuring compliance with regulatory financial reporting and contract management. The Director will also build and maintain relationships with Commonwealth Department of Health partners, stay informed on Medicaid regulatory and competitive environments, cultivate internal and external relationships for performance improvement, and lead and develop financial staff.
