Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university (or obtain within 5 years of hire)
Driver's License (upon hire)
Ability to work primarily days with possible weekends/evenings/holidays
Visual acuity adequate to perform position duties
Ability to communicate effectively, hear, understand, and distinguish speech and other sounds
Preferred: Professional Engineering (PE) License (upon hire)
Preferred: Certified Health Care Facility Manager (CHFM) (upon hire)
Preferred: Certified Facility Manager (CFM) (upon hire)
Preferred: 4-6 years Facility Services leadership experience

Responsibilities

Assist in planning, organizing, and directing all department functions and activities (e.g., Facility Services, Plant Operations, Construction Services)
Manage construction and remodeling projects
Establish goals, objectives, standards of performance, and assist in developing policies and procedures
Interpret policies, standards, and regulations to personnel, patients, medical staff, and the public
Assist with and conduct negotiations with utility companies for electrical, gas, water, sewer, and energy plant distribution systems; monitor these systems for efficient operations
Keep budgets within limits established by hospital administration
Aid in efficient and productive operations of the Facility Services Department, including strategic planning and capital planning
Keep knowledge current with applicable laws, regulations, and standards (e.g., CMS, Joint Commission, EPA, NFPA, OSHA, building codes)
Manage multiple projects/tasks simultaneously towards successful completion at multiple facilities, including construction projects and space planning support
Administer and coordinate structural, mechanical, and electrical revisions/additions to all buildings on assigned locations
Provide collaboration and leadership with interdisciplinary teams, including Admin Council
Administer documentation of property, utility, security, and maintenance information
Interview, hire, develop, train, and retain employees; plan, assign, and lead work; appraise performance; reward and coach employees; address complaints and resolve problems
