Requirements

  • 2-4 years of related technical experience
  • Working knowledge of Diesel Engines, power generating and welding equipment (welding application and equipment is an asset)
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Post secondary education equivalent to a one year Technical College or equivalent (asset)
  • Ability to act proactively or provide a solution with work-related problems
  • Adaptable to set and prioritize work with varying exceptions
  • Attention to detail and solid organizational skills
  • Ability to multi-task and work independently with little supervision
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced team environment
  • Valid Driver License

Responsibilities

  • Repair, refurbish, and maintain engine driven welding equipment, electrical welding equipment, and generators
  • Ensure a safe work environment by following Airgas/Red-D-Arc’s health and safety guidelines
  • Repair and refurbish all Electric and Diesel Engine Drives
  • Assemble electric, diesel, gas, and propane equipment for rental
  • Test and calibrate machines to ensure they are functional for rent or sale
  • Touch up paint and replace worn and missing decals on welders to maintain general appearance
  • Replace defective parts and complete preventative maintenance required
  • Identify proper parts and their numbers needed for repairs, order parts as required through the Parts Coordinator or Branch Coordinator
  • Inspect returned equipment for proper operation and/or damage by the customer
  • Operate a forklift, pallet jack or other necessary equipment to stock required parts in the shop
  • Ensure a clean and organized work environment at all times
  • Properly document all repairs and maintenance
  • Occasionally service equipment and customers off-site
  • Maintain communication with all branch personnel
  • Occasionally advise customers regarding best equipment for their projects
  • Perform field work as needed
  • Perform other related duties
