Requirements

  • Registered Nurse (RN) - active license in the state of practice (Upon Hire)
  • 1-3 years of dialysis experience
  • Visual acuity adequate to perform position duties
  • Ability to communicate effectively with others, hear, understand, and distinguish speech and other sounds
  • Ability to work primarily days with rotating weekends and holidays

Responsibilities

  • Promote optimal dialysis services through implementation of clinical activities, patient/professional/public education, performance improvement, and administrative functions
  • Establish goals, objectives, standards of performance, and develop policies and procedures
  • Collaborate with leadership to manage ongoing operations of the unit
  • Manage department resources to provide positive patient outcomes and meet budgetary goals
  • Maintain appropriate staffing levels to maximize unit efficiency
  • Collect data and monitor trends to improve operations and patient outcomes
  • Assist hospital policy and procedure committee by reviewing and updating department policies
  • Communicate policies to staff and monitor compliance
  • Handle customer relations, including resolving patient complaints, communicating risk management concerns, and initiating follow-up
  • Ensure dialysis machines are disinfected and cultures/LALs are obtained per AAMI parameters
  • Interview, hire, develop, train, and retain employees; plan, assign, and lead work; appraise performance; reward and coach employees; address complaints and resolve problems
