Requirements

Registered Nurse (RN) - active license in the state of practice (Upon Hire)
1-3 years of dialysis experience
Visual acuity adequate to perform position duties
Ability to communicate effectively with others, hear, understand, and distinguish speech and other sounds
Ability to work primarily days with rotating weekends and holidays

Responsibilities

Promote optimal dialysis services through implementation of clinical activities, patient/professional/public education, performance improvement, and administrative functions
Establish goals, objectives, standards of performance, and develop policies and procedures
Collaborate with leadership to manage ongoing operations of the unit
Manage department resources to provide positive patient outcomes and meet budgetary goals
Maintain appropriate staffing levels to maximize unit efficiency
Collect data and monitor trends to improve operations and patient outcomes
Assist hospital policy and procedure committee by reviewing and updating department policies
Communicate policies to staff and monitor compliance
Handle customer relations, including resolving patient complaints, communicating risk management concerns, and initiating follow-up
Ensure dialysis machines are disinfected and cultures/LALs are obtained per AAMI parameters
Interview, hire, develop, train, and retain employees; plan, assign, and lead work; appraise performance; reward and coach employees; address complaints and resolve problems
