Energy Solutions is seeking a DevOps Engineer II to join our team and support our AWS infrastructure. This role involves collaborating with engineers and external contractors to maintain systems that meet client needs and support energy and cost savings goals. The position reports to a Software Engineering Manager within the Information Systems group.

Requirements

  • Education: Bachelor’s or equivalent technical background with a minimum of 5 years of professional engineering experience.
  • Experience:
    • Minimum of 3 years of AWS DevOps engineering experience.
    • Experience managing/improving Cloud infrastructure using Terraform.
    • Experience implementing and supporting CI/CD pipelines.
    • Experience as a system administrator for Linux systems.
    • Cost optimization experience for AWS and other platforms.
  • Skills:
    • Proficiency in AWS DevOps engineering.
    • Strong research and communication skills.
    • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
    • Experience reading, writing, reviewing, and verifying scripts in Python and other scripting languages.

Responsibilities

  • Support a variety of Cloud-based deployments across multiple projects.
  • Respond to support tasks with timely solutions.
  • Assist in building and maintaining testing tools, automation tools, and IT infrastructure.
  • Provide technical direction, training, and guidance to more junior DevOps staff and other team members.
  • Assist in troubleshooting issues relating to AWS, networking, databases, etc.
  • Monitor system operations to detect potential problems.
  • Coordinate with our valued DevOps partner to minimize the work that needs to be outsourced.
