Developer - MS Access to Azure SQL Migration with React Frontend

Position Overview

RemoteVA is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Developer to assist with a critical project: migrating an existing MS Access SQL system to an Azure SQL database, with frontend integration in React. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong problem-solving abilities, a comprehensive understanding of both frontend and backend development, and practical experience in data migration and modernization initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

• Migrate legacy MS Access SQL database to Azure SQL.
• Collaborate in transitioning the existing interface to a modern React-based front end.
• Maintain clean, well-documented, and scalable code.
• Ensure smooth integration between the backend and frontend.
• Troubleshoot issues during the migration process and optimize performance.
• Communicate progress and updates regularly with the project lead.

Requirements

Required Skills & Tools

• Proficiency in MS Access SQL.
• Experience with Azure SQL for cloud-based database development.
• Strong knowledge of React, HTML, and CSS.
• Ability to work independently and manage tasks effectively.
• Good communication skills, particularly in remote work environments.

• Hours: 40 hours/week
• Compensation: USD 700 – 750 per month (based on experience and qualifications)
