Requirements

  • Master’s degree in manufacturing / mechanical / electrical engineering or related field
  • Important experience in a manufacturing and engineering environment
  • Experience in general manufacturing processes: Fabrication, Plastics, EMSi, Mech
  • Experience in High tech low volume – high mix manufacturing environment
  • Autonomy to drive technical discussions
  • Excellent program management skills
  • Excellent communication, leadership skills
  • Negotiation skills is a plus
  • Cost reduction experience

Responsibilities

  • Identify cost-saving projects through process optimization, Lean principles, dual sourcing, transfers, Tier 2 supplier changes, improved cost transparency, DfX (Design for Manufacturing, Cost, and Value), and close collaboration with engineering
  • Lead the planning, prework, business case creation and projects prioritization
  • Serve as the focal point in front of suppliers, representing engineering and sourcing in technical and commercial discussions
  • Lead in autonomy technical discussions and coordinate with Suppliers, internal stakeholders the design transfer projects for IB products, ensuring seamless transition (PIPO) of manufacturing activities across suppliers’ sites
  • Manage potential risks during supplier transfers and identify resolution actions
  • Enhance the implementation of equivalent parts as real dual sourcing opportunity between IGS Buc and Beijing sites
  • Partner with cross functional teams internally: engineering, supply quality, AME, operations, sourcing, supplier capability
  • Lead discussions with engineering related to design strategies – engineering change requests (ECR)
  • Contribute and drive execution of all aspects of Disruptive Cost Workouts (DCW) with Suppliers – end to end ownership from pre-work to VCP (Variable Cost Productivity) realization
  • Travel up to 25% to supplier sites and GEHC IGS locations (France and China)
