Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in graphic design or related field or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • 6+ years' experience of graphic design, preferably in product creation or in an agency
  • Strong understanding of the competitive streetwear and licensed brand landscape, with an ability for gaining insights that drive product differentiation
  • A well-curated portfolio showcasing a variety of projects that demonstrate a strong, effective methodology for research, inspiration, design development, problem-solving, process, and final execution (must submit creative design portfolio with website links or PDF files)
  • High degree of proficiency in Adobe Illustrator; proficiency in Adobe Photoshop; digital design acumen in Adobe CC; competency in 3D design, AI, and future design tools a massive plus
  • Best in class competency in typography, design, illustration, conceptual thinking, and end-to-end process excellence
  • High level of taste and understanding of modern streetwear and culture, innate grasp of style, and ability to elevate Nike’s visual storytelling globally through compelling NSW narratives
  • Deep understanding of the apparel product creation process
  • Ability to motivate and mentor designers and other teammates within project settings
  • Ability to remain curious, motivated, optimistic while adapting to change and navigating ambiguity
  • Expert in creative collaboration, design craft, conceptual thinking, innovation, graphic applications, prints, processes, and tools
  • Ability to embrace diverse points of view

Responsibilities

  • Lead a small team responsible for conceptualizing narratives across multiple collections through Graphic Visual Centers and Presentations
  • Work closely with the Design Director and Product Leadership to drive graphic strategy and vision
  • Collaborate with multiple teams of designers, developers, and product managers to deliver creative work in line with the NSW ethos
  • Collaborate tightly with product and development on trims, print applications, cost considerations, construction, insights, and various presentation gates to bring product to life
  • Manage two direct reports, leading the team through seasonal projects while providing coaching and development
  • Lead Tee Design teammates in creating the future of sport/culture across NSW, including brainstorm sessions on creative strategies
  • Conduct meetings to review graphics, apparel, and color designs to achieve desired goals
  • Ensure feasibility of designs, meet deadlines, and articulate thinking behind work in leadership-facing presentations
