Ashby is seeking a Senior Frontend Engineer to tackle our most challenging design problems and help others improve their designs. This role offers the unique opportunity to design and build software, a capability often missing in traditional engineering roles. You’ll contribute to improving the productivity of working professionals by enhancing our in-house design system and consulting on bespoke work. Examples of projects include redesigning the mobile web app, building composable components, and improving information hierarchy for assessments. Ashby is a rapidly growing company with significant revenue, runway, and strong investors.

Requirements

  • Experience: At least 5 years of experience as a full-time frontend engineer or evenly split between frontend and design.
  • Design System Contributions: Significant contributions to (or leading) design systems.
  • Collaboration: Ability to collaborate effectively with a small, talented team.
  • Communication: Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Culture Fit: Demonstrated humility and kindness – valued within the team culture.

Responsibilities

  • Redesign mobile web app based on customer feedback.
  • Implement and enhance the in-house design system.
  • Build flexible, composable components for the design system.
  • Consult on bespoke design projects.
  • Help other engineers improve their design’s information hierarchy and scannability.
  • Participate in a collaborative and deliberate engineering culture.
